The Window Installation Process
What to expect before and during installation
Many of the homeowners we work with don’t fully understand how simple window installations can be. The thought of having your windows replaced can be a bit overwhelming if you don’t understand the process. Rest assured by trusting The Window Source to complete your replacement window project you are in good hands.
Scheduling your installation date is handled with a tremendous amount of respect for your time and availability. After your windows arrive to our warehouse, our office manager will call you to schedule your installation date.
Our installation crews will arrive to your home in the morning sometime between 7-9am depending on your project location. You will be greeted by our courteous professional crew members, who will give you an overview of how the day will go. Depending on the size of your project, your install could take as little as a few hours, up to multiple days. You will be informed ahead of time if blinds will need to be removed. And, in case you were wondering: the majority of blinds will still fit the replacement windows.
If you have old wooden windows, your exterior window stops are removed. This is the small piece of wood that runs horizontally and vertically around the perimeter of the exterior of your windows. Now, the old wooden sashes and sash rails will be removed without damaging any of the interior trim around your existing opening. The interior trim will not need to be replaced after the window installation.
Next, your new windows will be installed in the existing opening and checked for proper alignment.
Our installation crew will do a walk through with you to make sure you are 100% satisfied with the job that has been completed. During this walk through our installers will show you how to properly operate the windows and will answer any questions you have regarding installation. They will not leave until you are 100% satisfied!
